Bring Major League Soccer to Charlotte

July 12, 2017 4:32 pm

As a kid in the 80’s in the ‎Carolinas, you had to work to be a soccer fan‎. There was a PBS show, and maybe the FA Cup on shortwave radio. Fast forward to 2014, I’m in Charlotte watching the team I’ve supported all my life along with 70,000 other soccer fans.. what a great moment!

The sport has grown in America‎, and so has Charlotte. There are so many international and MLS fans in the Queen City, our time to come together is now!

Charlotte should be the next MLS expansion city. I think many of you agree. Step up, and let’s show the MLS what Charlotte is all about. Join me at First Ward Park this Tuesday, July 18 for a “Power of the Pitch Rally” to help bring Major League Soccer to our city. It’s going to be a fun time with lots of food trucks, ice cold beverages, and giveaways for the kids.

If you work uptown, walk over after work. If your driving in parking at 7th Street Public Market is close to First Ward Park or take the light rail to 7th Street Station. It’s easy. Bring the kids & have them wear their team gear! The event is free, and starts at 4:30pm. Support the cause by signing up at to bring Major League Soccer to Charlotte and join the conversation with me on Twitter at @WilsonsWorld and @MLS4CLT

It’s time for #MLS4CLT‎!
