UNC Charlotte Uptown Campus
In an effort to enhance UNC Charlotte’s presence in Center City, the University opened their first uptown building at the beginning of the Fall 2011 academic semester. The 143,000 square foot facility houses 25 classrooms, design studios, meeting and performance spaces, an art gallery and a bookstore. The building is situated in a corner of the planned First Ward Park, to be developed as a public-private partnership. The UNCC Uptown organizes previously dispersed offices and classrooms into a single facility. Graduate programs in Urban Design, Business Administration, Information Technology, Health and Human Services, Engineering and Arts and Sciences all offer classes Uptown.
