Charlotte Center City Partners’ Board of Directors has selected Pat Rodgers, President & CEO of Rodgers as the recipient of the 2014 Vision Award. The award is intended to recognize and celebrate the contributions of a community leader whose efforts have made the Center City a more vibrant urban core.
Pat Rodgers has successfully led Rodgers for 27 years to become one of the top contractors in the nation. Rodgers Builders was established in 1963 by Pat’s husband, engineer B. D. Rodgers. The company’s mission is to build buildings with purpose, to build relationships with integrity, to build people who lead, and to build community with care.
Rodgers has successfully completed at least 30 projects in the Center City footprint; including the Knight Theater and Wells Fargo auditorium, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Mint Museum Uptown at the Levine Cultural Campus; the Foundation for the Carolinas corporate headquarters, Johnson and Wales’ academic building, the nearly completed BB&T Ballpark, ImaginOn, NC Dance Theatre and the list goes on.
Pat Rodgers’ energy, business acumen and leadership have enhanced a wide variety of organizations far beyond her company. She has served as chair of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, and chaired or served on more than a dozen boards, ranging from the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and Mint Museums to the Carolinas Chapter of The Associated General Contractors of America. Rodgers has been honored with the Charlotte Business Journal’s Business Person of the Year award and their Lifetime Achievement award.
During the 2014 Vision Awards, we will celebrate and explore Charlotte’s culture of building through the theme, “Building to Win.” It is our honor to celebrate the vision of Pat Rodgers and how that vision is helping to successfully build our city.
The Vision Awards also recognize and celebrate the contributions of individuals, businesses and organizations that have made the Center City a more vibrant urban core. The Special Achievement Award winners have had a major impact on Center City’s ongoing transformation, and Settlers Awards honor the pioneering and entrepreneurial spirit of Center City businesses, institutions or retailers who have been key contributors to Center City’s quality of life.
During the 2014 Vision Awards, we will celebrate and explore Charlotte’s journey. As always, we will unveil a number of surprises during the course of the evening sumo wrestling suits for sale.
