CHARLOTTE (December 28, 2012) — The semi-annual Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week® returns for its tenth showing Friday, January 18, through Sunday, January 27, 2013. This winter’s promotion features a record 112 participating restaurants in six counties [see full list below], with the updated website now live at listing the restaurants’ special Queen’s Feast® menus and reservation information, as well as newly added hotel discounts. Charlotte Restaurant Week is a metro-area promotion during which upscale restaurants offer a prix fixe, three-course (or more) dinner for $30 per person (not including tax and gratuity). Participating restaurants can be found across Charlotte and beyond into Matthews, Concord, Belmont, Gastonia, Waxhaw, the Lake Norman area of northern Mecklenburg and Iredell counties, and Fort Mill, SC.

The previous Charlotte Restaurant Week in July 2012 generated approximately 125,000 dinners and an estimated economic impact of over $5.8 million in revenue for the 107 participating restaurants.

January’s Queen’s Feast will feature numerous first-time restaurant participants, including Heist Brewery in NoDa, The Peculiar Rabbit in Plaza Midwood, Eastover’s Napa on Providence, Ballantyne’s Vine American Kitchen, and Amor de Brazil Steakhouse in Matthews.

“From that first Queen’s Feast in July 2008 with 42 participating restaurants, it’s grown to an event that impacts business for over 100 restaurants in the metro area and attracts both local and traveling diners,” stated Bruce Hensley, president of Hensley Fontana Public Relations & Marketing, which owns and handles turnkey execution of the event. “We continually work to enhance the promotion; this

time we’re adding special hotel rates at several local properties to further establish Queen’s Feast as a tourism driver for the Charlotte area.”

Additionally, some Queen’s Feast restaurants will again extend an exclusive offer to AAA members via the AAA Show Your Card & Save® program. Diners presenting a current AAA membership card while dining in those restaurants during Queen’s Feast will have the opportunity to purchase a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant for only $25. The gift certificate will not be redeemable during Queen’s Feast, and other restrictions may apply.
