WBT Holiday on Ice 2016

Leonard Bearstein Symphony Orchestra

December 1 – December 31

Founders Hall – 100 North Tryon Street

Leonard Bearstein and his animatronic orchestra are back at Founders Hall with an updated program and fresh take on holiday classics.  The program features a compilation of time-honored songs.

Performances run Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. every hour on the hour with shows at 5:00pm and 6:00 p.m. Saturday through Sunday 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Charlotte Ballet: Nutcracker

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening?  Carolina Voices presents a Winter Wonderland of holiday entertainment at The 62nd Annual Singing Christmas Tree! The warm sounds of the season will fill the Knight Theater as the soaring voices of MainStage Choir (in a 32’ specially-designed Tree!) perform all your favorite Christmas music – from the inspirational and sacred to the traditional pop and family classics.  The stage will sparkle with whimsical dance, magical tricks, puppetry and special friends who will warm your heart at this special time of the year, including the nationally-acclaimed Grey Seal Puppets, Miller Street Dance Academy, Young Voices of the Carolinas and Carolina Voices’ fabulous a cappella ensemble, Impromptu, and Santa, of course!  Don’t miss this Charlotte holiday tradition!   

The Singing Christmas Tree FOR KIDS

The magic of Christmas comes alive for children (and parents) at this kid-friendly version of The Singing Christmas Tree.  Just an hour in length, the performance is filled with fun Christmas carols, while also showcasing the nationally acclaimed Grey Seal Puppets, the amazing Carolina Kids’ Voices Choir, everyone’s favorite “dancing” purple hippo and of course, jolly ole’ St. Nick.   *Recommended for children ages 3 to 10.

The Hip Hop Nutcracker

2016 Holiday Tour Hours

Founded in 1977 by neighbors who visited each other’s homes to feast, sing carols and enjoy holiday décor, the Friends of Fourth Ward Holiday Home Tour has evolved substantially in 38 years. In 1979, the event opened to the public and quickly became a successful fundraiser for the neighborhood. To this day, all tour proceeds benefit important neighborhood projects such as neighborhood beautification, preservation of historic landmarks, public art, education, social, and safety programs. The annual home tour is hosted by the Friends of Fourth Ward, a not-for-profit neighborhood organization.



South End Tree Lighting 

November 19

Atherton Mill – 2140 South Blvd.

5:30 p.m.

This family-friendly event will include hot chocolate and cider, and holiday performances. Santa Claus himself may even stop by. The tree will come to life at 6:00pm and the festivities will continue until 7:00pm with a few surprises and free holiday treats on hand.

Belk Bowl

The Belk Bowl returns each year to Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, home of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers. One team from the Southern Eastern Conference and one team from the Atlantic Coast Conference will play each other in this exciting annual event.

7th Street Public Market Sip N’ Shop Thursday December 8th, 15th and 22nd we will be hosting 25–30 pop up vendors inside the market from 4–9pm. The first 100 guests each evening will receive complimentary sparkling wine and we will have live music. All food and beverage vendors in the market will also be open.
