Carolina Panthers
The Panthers have held their summer training camp at Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina every year since the franchise began.
The NFL’s Carolina Panthers are the reigning NFC South Champions and play home games at Bank of America Stadium in Uptown’s Third Ward neighborhood. The Panthers joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1995, and appeared in Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004.
Charlotte Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets name returned to its rightful home in Buzz City in 2014. The Hornets are members of the NBA’s Southeast Division in the league’s Eastern Conference. The team is largely owned by former NBA player Michael Jordan, who acquired controlling interest in the team in 2010. The Hornets play their home games at Spectrum Center in Charlotte Center City.

The Charlotte Checkers are a minor-league professional ice hockey team based in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. They are members of the Midwest Division of the Western Conference of the American Hockey League (AHL), and are the AHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Checkers play their home games at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Charlotte Knights
The Charlotte Knights moved to their new home at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte Center City in 2014. The Knights play in the International League of Minor League Baseball and are the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

The Charlotte Hounds are a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) professional men’s field lacrosse franchise that began play in the 2012 MLL season along with Ohio Machine as part of the league’s plan to have 16 teams by 2020. The team is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The team’s home games are played at American Legion Memorial Stadium.

The Charlotte Independence joined the United Soccer League (USL) as an expansion team in September 2014. The team is based in Matthews, North Carolina.
