Fresh to West Produce Packs Back for Summer

June 23, 2017 10:39 am

The produce pack program, Fresh to West, returns for the summer. Fresh to West launched last year as a way to provide fresh produce to the Historic West End while also offering an alternative to farmer’s market hours.

The produce boxes offer an assortment of seasonal fruits and vegetables that can be picked up weekly after work from 5-7 p.m. at the Rosa Parks Farmers Market. The boxed vegetables are provided weekly by a local farmer and offer a seasonal assortment of kale, collards, sweet potatoes, apples, or cucumbers. Each week the boxes include a different assortment of vegetables to try.

You can order your four Fresh to West produce packs online by July 7 for $80.00 and will be able to pick up weekly produce packs at 1600 West Trade Street, Charlotte, N.C. 28216 on July 11, 18, 25 and August 1.

The link for August’s orders will be live from July 3 – August 4 with pick-ups on Tuesday, August 8, 15, 22 and 29. September orders can be placed from August 7 – September 1 for pick-ups on Tuesday, September 5, 12, 19 and 26.

The Fresh to West Program was created by members of the 5 Points Community, the Rosa Parks Farmers Market and the Historic West End Partnership to bring fresh produce to the Historic West End communities.
