Dandelion Market Coming To Uptown Charlotte

The group of guys responsible for Tyber Creek, Connolly's, Madison's and The Attic are at it again with their latest venture, Dandelion Market, a small plates restaurant concept inspired by the 70's marketplace in Dublin, Ireland by the same name.

Co-owners Tommy Timmins, Kevin Devin and Maynard Goble expect Charlotte's Dandelion Market, located at 118 West Fifth Street in Uptown at the old Latorre's Restaurant site, to become THE meet up place in the Center City.

"After ten years and four locations, we think we've learned a lot and uncovered an unmet need," said Timmins. "Like Dandelion Market in Dublin, Charlotte residents and visitors need a central meeting place to eat, drink and socialize so it's our goal to provide it."

The moderately-priced small plates menu, created by Chef Katie Formuzis, a recent transplant from the Washington, DC area, encourages sharing and sampling of items such as Aged Cheddar and Fat Tire Ale Fondue served with grilled baguette slices and caramelized apples. Seventy-five percent of the food inventory will be supplied by local farmers.

A full bar on each floor will include 24 craft-style brews on tap, a great selection of wines under $25 a bottle, wine to go and specialty coffee drinks.

The new eco-friendly décor, featuring salvaged wood and recycled furniture, will complement the existing rustic brick and high ceiling interior. With approximately 7500 sq. ft., and a separate upstairs area, Dandelion Market will have private meeting and party space.

Initial hours of operation will be 3PM to 2AM, 7 days a week. Eventually, Dandelion Market will be open for lunch.
