Wells Fargo Awards Over $6 Million to Local Nonprofit
Charlotte area community nonprofit organizations and local government officials, including Mayor Anthony Foxx, joined Wachovia leaders this morning for Wells Fargo’s “Spirit of Caring” breakfast event.
Fourteen Charlotte area nonprofits surprisingly learned at the event that they were recipients of a grant made possible by a one-time funding program. The Wells Fargo “Spirit of Caring” Community Grants program awarded over $6 million to Charlotte region nonprofit organizations.
“We recognize the critical challenges our community faces and understand many of our community partners are serving more constituents with less resources,” said Kendall Alley, Charlotte regional president for Wachovia, A Wells Fargo Company. “This morning’s announcement demonstrates how our efforts and resources are better together as we integrate two great companies and it shows how committed our company is to this important flagship market on the East Coast.”
