Street Closures for Taste of Charlotte
Taste of Charlotte brings its eats and treats to uptown next week. In addition to great food from over 30 of the area’s best restaurants, you’ll find Kid’s Activities brought to you by Bloom Grocery with fun and games for kids, The MarketPlace Presented by Circle K with one-of-a-kind handcrafted art, jewelry, clothing and more, live entertainment on the Center Stage and Inside the Tavern at the Taste Presented by Blue Moon Brewing Co.
Below is handy information about street closures and parking to ensure you arrive to the festival safely.
Street Closures The managing staff of Taste of Charlotte works with the City of Charlotte to make as little impact as possible on daily commuting of uptown workers. The plan used this year is the same plan as last year’s Taste of Charlotte festival.
When the festival moves into uptown Charlotte to begin setup on Thursday, June 10th, Tryon Street from MLK Jr Blvd to Sixth will close at 12noon. The cross streets of Third, Fourth and Fifth will remain open until 6:00pm following rush hour traffic. The intersections of Third, Fourth and Fifth streets will reopen at 6 a.m. for rush hour traffic Friday morning.
At 9 a.m. Friday, June 11th the following will be closed to traffic: - Tryon Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Sixth Street will close - Third Street from College to Church streets - Fourth Street from College to Church streets - Trade Street from College to Church streets - Fifth Street from College to Church streets
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Sixth Street will remain open to traffic all day. The streets listed above will reopen in time for Monday morning rush hour.
Parking Many spaces are available for parking on the streets, all free after 6 p.m. and all day on the weekends. There’s also plenty of parking available in the numerous decks and lots in the Center City.

Hours of Operation: Taste of Charlotte will take place on Tryon Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Sixth Street June 11-13. The festival is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
