Bees will Help Pollinate JWU Community Garden

Cloister Honey will install two bee hives in the community garden this week. Students will learn about the honey production process and the life cycle of the bee and the bee hive. The bees will pollinate our plants and provide fresh honey for our students.

JWU created the community garden in order to build sustainable practices into its curriculum, while strengthening the community. JWU believes that by understanding the growing cycle of materials, one can better maintain the body and mind. The garden will empower our university to build a stronger inter-campus community by cross-departmental participation. Students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to maintain a plot and harvest honey.
