Black Sheep a Finalists in Mountain Dew’s Green Label Art Competition

Black Sheep, an independent boutique featuring limited edition men’s apparel, shoes, and skateboards, today announced the shop has been selected as one of seven national finalists in Mountain Dew’s Green Label Arts Competition.

Professional skateboarder Paul Rodriguez and legendary underground artist Don Pendleton worked together to create their own signature can artwork for Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew then selected 35 specialty shops across the country to design their own custom can in a contest called the Mountain Dew Green Label Art Shop Series. Local Charlotte retailer Black Sheep was 1 of 35 shops nationally selected to participate in this contest, and have their artwork displayed online for voting.

Black Sheep has just announced that it is one of only seven finalists for the Mountain Dew Green Label Art Shop Series. Only one of the seven finalists will be awarded the grand prize and receive $10,000 and have their custom artwork appear on Mountain Dew cans nationwide.

Josh Frazier, owner of Black Sheep stated, “It’s been a great honor to be selected by Mountain Dew as one of the few shops to participate in the Green Label Arts Series. There are a ton of talented artists and well respected shops in the program from all across the country, so it’s a real honor to have made it this far in the competition. Black Sheep has always supported local artists and thrown art events, so it would be really amazing to represent Charlotte and local artists with the winning can design."
