Road Closures for Funeral Procession
CLOSURES SCHEDULED:
Davidson Street: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., between Fifth Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
East Trade Street: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., between Caldwell and Alexander streets.
Fourth Street: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., between Caldwell and McDowell streets.
Third Street: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., between Caldwell and McDowell streets.
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., between Caldwell and McDowell streets.
Monroe Road/Seventh Street: About noon to about 1:30 p.m., from uptown to Sharon Amity Road.
Sharon Amity Road: About noon to about 1:30 p.m., at Monroe Road near the cemetery.
Wendover Road: About noon to 12:30 p.m., at the Monroe Road intersection, as the procession passes through.
UPTOWN ALTERNATE ROUTES:
Use Seventh Street to get across the uptown area, east to west.
Use College, Tryon or Church streets to get across the uptown area, north to south.
UPTOWN CEMETERY-AREA ROUTES:
Use Randolph Road or East Independence Boulevard instead of Monroe Road.
Use Idlewild and Rama roads instead of Sharon Amity Road.
