Hope Tote Program Launched
Charlotte Rescue Mission (CRM) is launching a "Hope Tote" campaign to collect personal need items for men and women enrolled in its life changing programs. The Hope Tote campaign is scheduled to run from February 28 through April 15, 2011.
The Hope Tote campaign is targeted to help homeless and at risk men and women enrolled in the Mission’s residential recovery programs. Items of particular need are new bedding items such as twin sheets and blankets, pillows and pillowcases and personal care items such as full-sized shampoos, bar soap and deodorant.
"When men and women enter the Mission’s programs, often they just have the clothes on their back," says Rev. Tony Marciano, Executive Director of CRM. "The items they need are the very items you and I use every day to take care of ourselves."
Mission clients are often deeply moved when individuals and groups donate these items. This simple act of kindness lets them know they have not been rejected by society.
A full list of the items being collected includes: Bedding Items: Pillows, Pillowcases, Single/Twin Sheets, Single/Twin Blankets; Classroom Supplies: Loose leaf notebook paper, 2" binders, 1 subject composition notebooks, Reading glasses; Personal Care Items: Full-sized shampoo, Full-sized body lotion, Deodorant, Bar soap, Razors, Toilet paper, Denture adhesive (paste/gel), Feminine hygiene products, Liquid/powder laundry detergent; Health-Related Items: Ibuprofen, Tylenol/Acetaminophen, Antacid chewable tablets, Multivitamins; Other: Paper towels, Cleaning products, Foodservice gloves.
