South End Small Business Owner/Success Story

Charlotte, NC - Charlotte has felt the recession but the business successes have not stopped There are entrepreneurs who are finding their way every day. Chris Finley of Computer Functions, in South End, is an example of a true entrepreneur who has found his way.

In 2004, while homeless, Chris began hanging flyers for computer services. One client at a time, he was able to make a home for himself, earn his degree, and open the doors to his own retail location. Early this year, Chris opened the doors to Computer Functions in South End.

On Tuesday, June 28, Mayor Foxx will meet with Chris at 1:00 pm to tour his store and talk about the challenges in being a small business owner. It is part of the Mayor’s effort to ensure that South End and all of Charlotte remain catalysts for job growth through a business friendly environment where entrepreneurs feel confident open and expanding their businesses. The goal is to further expand opportunities for small businesses and be sure that anyone who wants to start a business has the resources and support to be successful.
