Zach Bonner Passes Through Charlotte
The public is invited to help welcome Zach Bonner, 11, to Charlotte as he passes through town on his "My House to the White House" walk to help raise awareness and funding for homeless children. All donations from the Charlotte area will be returned to Charlotte to purchase school supplies for homeless children in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
Wednesday, June 3, at 1pm
Zach is expected to arrive at the welcoming event at 1pm. He will be walking through downtown Charlotte during the lunch hour.
The public is encouraged to join local homeless service providers and NeXus Urban Serve in support of Zach's initiative to raise money and awareness for the 1.3 million children that are homeless in the United States.
Homelessness in Charlotte is reaching epidemic proportions, growing by 60% in the last three years and now includes over 3,000 school-aged children. Zach’s walk is helping to bring attention to the problem.
All funds raised from the Charlotte area will be returned to Charlotte for the purchase of back-toschool supplies for homeless and at-risk children. Donations can be made at LittleRedWagonFoundation.com.
