TIME WARNER CABLE AND JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY SERVE UP LOCAL COOKING SEGMENTS
“Let’s Cook with Johnson & Wales,” sponsored by Lowes Foods, debuts July 3rd
Charlotte, NC (June 29, 2009) – A taste of the prestigious Johnson & Wales University culinary program is coming to Time Warner Cable and your kitchen table! Time Warner Cable and JWU are teaming up to dish out unique and delicious recipes to Time Warner Cable customers.
Beginning July, “Let’s Cook with Johnson & Wales,” sponsored by Lowes Foods, will air on Time Warner Cable’s Carolina On Demand, channel 1234. There will be two new segments each week through the end of the year. “We are proud to partner with one of the best culinary schools in the world to bring our customers world class dishes without the expense of eating out,” says Brian Kelly, Time Warner Cable president of residential services. “Just the way the chef puts food on the plate will liven up a normal dish when eating in.”
Each week, a culinary or baking and pastry chef instructor will be featured in a short cooking segment. The recipes will include local and regional favorites, chef specialties, healthy and diabetic recipes. "The recipes will offer viewers a unique and different way to create dishes that will inspire them to get back into the kitchen and experiment,” says JWU’s Dean of Culinary Education, Mark Allison. Viewers will learn useful tips and secrets of success in the kitchen. “Time Warner Cable’s Carolina On Demand technology gives its customers interactive services that work for their busy lifestyles. These segments offer one on one classes with top chefs at their side at a time convenient for them,” adds Allison. JWU students will also participate.
Carolina On Demand, channel 1234, is an exclusive services to Time Warner Cable customers. Time Warner Cable’s free Video On Demand technology allows viewers to watch “On Demand” programming at any time by using their remote control to select, view, pause and rewind the digitized content.
