Blue Restaurant & Bar Wins Awards

CHARLOTTE, NC (July 20, 2009) –Blue Restaurant & Bar uptown has been awarded Wine Spectator's coveted "Best of Award of Excellence." Blue Restaurant & Bar uptown received the honor in the current July issue of Wine Spectator.

Blue Restaurant & Bar Wine Director Scott Daniel says "This is a huge boost for the culinary atmosphere here in Charlotte. This particular award has long been reserved for the deep-pocket steakhouses and celebrity chef-driven restaurants in the biggest US cities, so the impact this will have on Charlotte's national prominence will be significant. Charlotte has taken the next step towards becoming a recognized restaurant player in the world of wine." Wine Spectator describes their "Best of Award of Excellence" as an award created to give special recognition to restaurants for wine lists that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. These lists must also display vintage depth and excellent breadth across several wine regions.

Blue Restaurant & Bar is a sophisticated restaurant that offers flavors from around the Mediterranean region. Executive Chef Gene Briggs has created a multi-cultural menu that will take your taste buds on a whirlwind tour. Blue is designed to tempt all of your senses. Prepare to experience a Moroccan Tagine, Whole Roasted Mediterranean Sea Bass or Tenderloin ala Blue. As you travel around the menu you will be delighted with familiar dishes and excited by others you have yet to explore. Blue is designed to tempt all of your senses.
