Center City Applications

There are several methods you can use to present your information, products or services to the public in Center City. This includes displaying posters or banners, holding public gatherings, operating as a vendor on Tryon Street or the Green Market. You'll need to submit an application to Center City Partners for approval.

Banner Space

Banner space is available on 5 overstreet passes in the Center City, and on light poles along Tryon Street. Banner space is assigned on a first-come first-serve basis, based on availability.

Street Vendors

Vendors are permitted on Tryon Street between Stonewall and 9th Streets, and on the 100 blocks of Trade Street.

Tryon Street Mall Use

Polk Park, Independence Square Plaza, and other sections of the Tryon Street Mall Plaza are availible for various forms of public use. An application is required per event and are reviewed on a case by case basis. Approvals are granted on a first come, first serve basis.

Tryon Street Newsrack Program

In February 2009, City Council approved a city-wide newsrack ordinance. The ordinance provides a provision for the installation of modular newsracks in Uptown on Tryon Street. A lottery & draft will be conducted to determine the allocation of spaces in this program.
