Balloons inflating, marching bands tuning up, dancers and characters preparing

The Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade is tomorrow, and preparations are underway in Uptown Charlotte. This year’s parade will feature 14 larger-than-life floats, five Segwalloons, dozens of performances, 14 of the area’s finest marching bands and over 700 volunteers. The parade will step off at 9:30 a.m. and the route will begin at Stonewall Street and travel north along Tryon Street through 9th Street. The main performance area will be at the Levine Avenue of the Arts. The parade will be broadcast at 4p.m. on WBTV Channel 3.


The Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade was just named one of America’s best Thanksgiving parades, and organizers expect attendance to be high. Parade highlights will include:

Street closure information

The staging area on South Tryon Street between the Levine Avenue of the Arts and Morehead Street and the cross streets between Church and College Streets will close at 7:30am on Thanksgiving day.
