Cha-Cha for the Ta-Tas

We are very excited to be hosting the first annual “Cha Cha for the Ta Tas” fundraiser on March 15th to support vulnerable women in our community.  Proceeds benefit two amazing local non-profit organizations, and we’re hoping that you will help us get the word out!

Michele Dudley, Executive Director for Fashion and Compassion is competing in Charlotte’s Dancing with the Stars on April 6th at the Knight Theater to raise as much money as possible for Carolina Breast Friends. While tickets for Charlotte’s Dancing with the Stars are sold out, The Cha Cha for the Ta Tas gives people a sneak peek – an opportunity to dine, dance and support the cause.

The Cha Cha for the Ta Tas will be held on Thursday, March 15 at 6:30 PM at Project 658, 3646 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205.  Cocktail attire is suggested.

The evening will feature dinner & drinks, a dance exhibition & lesson by dance professionals Dmitriy & Gaby Solomakha, plus a sneak preview of Michele & Dmitriy’s upcoming Dancing With the Stars of Charlotte performance. Get out your sparkles – this is a night you do NOT want to miss!

Proceeds will benefit both Carolina Breast Friends and Fashion & Compassion.  Michele sees a great deal of synergy between the two organizations. “Fashion and Compassion helps women overcome economic injustice both in Charlotte and Uganda, and Carolina Breast Friends supports women to overcome so many of the obstacles cancer creates.  No woman should have to walk alone, whether it’s through addiction, abuse or cancer.  I am dancing in honor of my Aunt Louise who died from breast cancer without the love and care that Carolina Breast Friends provides.   We want to see all women thrive and overcome their challenges no matter what those challenges are.”

More information about our organizations can be found on their websites, but here is a brief summary for each.

Carolina Breast Friends (

Established in November 2003 by Kristy Adams-Ebel, CBF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to uniting and helping women with breast cancer in all stages of survival. The organization centers around those who want to create a social and educational outlet for women united in a sisterhood of survival and hope.

Fashion and Compassion (

Fashion & Compassion is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that creates empowerment communities where vulnerable women connect with God, one another and resources to transform their lives. Fashion & Compassion provides part-time, transitional employment making jewelry in a loving community setting while connecting women to resources to pursue their dreams for the future. The communities include marginalized women and volunteers from different races, socio-economic groups, religions, cultures and ethnicities who work side by side, getting to know and love one another while gaining work skills and experience.  While most work is done in Charlotte, they also directly serve women in Uganda and have the privilege to support other microfinance initiatives worldwide. F&C donates 100% of their net proceeds back to the communities, organizations & ministries they serve.

Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte to Benefit the Pink House (

Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte to Benefit the Pink House (pairs local notables with ballroom pros for a spectacular one-night competition much like the television show it’s named after. But more importantly, each Star is also raising funds! The proceeds raised by each star will directly support Carolina Breast Friends and the many services they provide for those experiencing breast cancer. So pick your favorite star or stars and vote for them by making a donation. Every dollar equals 1 vote! And every donation makes a direct impact on the lives of the breast cancer Survivors we serve!
