Please join U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx, Mayor Dan Clodfelter and Charlotte Center City Partners for the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the CityLYNX Gold Line streetcar service on Tuesday, July 14. The celebration begins at 10:00 a.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena, with the service opening to the public at 1 p.m. that day.
This first phase of the CityLYNX Gold Line provides a FREE 1.5 mile service from the Charlotte Transportation Center to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. The alignment has six stops and connects to 70 CATS bus routes and the LYNX Blue Line light rail service. It will run every 15-20 minutes, seven days a week.
The CityLYNX Gold Line will operate on the following schedule:
Monday-Thursday, 6 a.m.-11 p.m.
Friday, 6 a.m.-Midnight
Saturday, 8 a.m.-Midnight
Sunday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
The CityLYNX Gold Line is an economic development catalyst that will strengthen this vital Charlotte corridor creating a framework for new investments, job growth and new housing. It expands our central employment district and our urban core. It links business, education, healthcare, culture, events and community. This initial segment is an important part of a planned 10 mile corridor that will further shape the growth of our community.
