Damon Phillips

Director of Event Management

In his role as Charlotte Center City Partners’ Director of Event Management, Damon oversees all major events, including Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade, CLT NYE, and the Vision Awards. 

Damon has more than 14 years of event operations and management experience. Before joining Charlotte Center City Partners, Damon was the Production Manager for Norfolk Festevents in Norfolk, Virginia, where he worked on some of the region’s largest multi-day festivals, including Harborfest, OpSail, Bayou Boogaloo, the Cajun Food Festival and the Town Point Wine Festival.

After moving to Charlotte in 2006, Damon worked as an Event Coordinator for Tribble Creative Group. He also served as Operations Manager for Charlotte Arrangements and worked on some key projects, including the opening of the Chapman Culture Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina and the inaugural Carolina Breast Friends event at the Mint Museum. He has served as the logistics chairman for the American Heart Association Heart Walks both in Richmond, VA and in Charlotte for the past 8 years.

Damon graduated for Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA with a B.S. in Recreation & Tourism, where he also played baseball for the Monarchs. He has coached baseball at both the high school and college levels.

Damon and his wife Jennifer currently reside in Unionville with their two sons, Landon (9) Brady (5) and two Jack Russell Terriers Molly & Spike.
