Window and door manufacturer Jeld-Wen Inc. has leased 23,187 square feet on the fourth floor of the Ally Center building in uptown Charlotte and plans to occupy the space in March.

The Charlotte Business Journal reported last month that the company was negotiating a lease at the building for its North American headquarters. Jeld-Wen plans to create at least 142 jobs here during the next two years.

Ally Center is now 83% occupied and recently signed another big tenant in Driven Brands.

Leah Bailey and John Ball of Trinity Partners represented the building’s owners, Trinity Capital Advisors and Principal Real Estate Investors. Brian Brtalik of Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer represented Jeld-Wen.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome Jeld-Wen to Center City Charlotte,” said Michael J. Smith, President and CEO of Charlotte Center City Partners. “The addition of this respected brand to an already impressive list of companies headquartered within our urban core affirms that our diverse and educated workforce, infrastructure, hospitality, and access to transportation remain unique advantages. Jeld-Wen is a great fit for Charlotte.”
