“Lights on the Square” Uptown Tree Lighting event returns this Thursday

Outdoors at the Square (Trade & Tryon St.), then inside Founders Hall

When:

Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014 5:30-8pm

5:30pm: All 14 ACC mascots, performances by Hough High Choir and Hawthorne
Lane United Methodist handbell choir

at the Square

6:00pm: Actor’s Theatre cast performs selections from “Great American Trailer Park Christmas”

6:20pm: Santa arrives, Mayor Clodfelter and Michael Smith speak, Uptown Tree lit at the Square

6:30pm: Entertainment and shopping specials begin inside Founders Hall, Santa photos
available, shopping, tastings and raffles until 8pm.

Charlotte Center City Partners will host the annual tree lighting in Uptown Charlotte this Thursday, Dec. 4. Festivities will begin at 5:30pm with holiday performances and ACC Mascots, plus the arrival of Santa just in time to light the tree by 6:30pm.

 

This year, the event will also include shopping specials, tastings and raffles by retailers in Founders Hall. Event highlights will include:

  • Charlotte Ballet performing excerpts from the Nutcracker
  • Every ACC football mascots
  • Leonard Bearstein orchestra
  • Santa photos in the Booth Playhouse lobby
  • BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe and X5s on display
  • Salvation Army Magical Toy Drive at Hendrix Business Systems (main level Founders Hall)
  • Goodies from Cloud 9 Bakery and hot beverages from Dunx

 

Shopping highlights will include:

  • Free gift wrap on items purchased at Blis (2nd level Founders Hall)
  • Buy two holiday balloons from Package Plus (2nd level) and get a third free, or get a 15% discount on all holiday mailers, boxes and greeting cards
  • Get tickets to holiday events at the Performing Arts Center and enter to win free giveaways
  • Sample cookies from Taste and get a discount coupon for a future visit
  • Get a free medium drip coffee from Caribou (2nd level) with the purchase or donation of a pound of Reindeer Blend Coffee. All coffee donations will go to the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte.
  • Find holiday festive attire at ivy & leo (2nd level) and Jos. A. Bank Clothiers (main level)
