As Director of Planning and Development, John focuses on the continued placemaking and physical development of Center City, particularly on mobility initiatives, supporting partnerships and strategies that make Uptown and South End more vibrant and beloved. John’s work is rooted in his desire to reimagine urban communities as more sustainable and equitable places, in part by providing multimodal connections, access, and opportunity to residents, workers, and visitors alike. He hopes to play a meaningful part in making Charlotte a place where people of all backgrounds can lead healthy, satisfying lives.

Prior to joining Center City Partners, John worked at planning consulting firms in Charlotte and Atlanta, providing technical analysis and community engagement for transportation, land use, small area, and trails master plans. He also played an integral role in the first Regional Transit Development Plans in Georgia.

John holds a Master of City and Regional Planning and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, both from Georgia Tech. He lives in Charlotte with his wife and two young sons.
