Rick Thurmond
Chief Marketing Officer
Rick Thurmond is Chief Marketing Officer at Charlotte Center City Partners. In this role, he provides enterprise-wide leadership, direction, and strategy for all CCCP brands, including Uptown, South End, Market at 7th Street, Novant Health Thanksgiving Eve Parade, Charlotte SHOUT!, Camden Commons, Music Everywhere CLT, Charlotte Rail Trail, and Victoria Yards). He also leads Music Everywhere CLT, a nonprofit initiative to develop Charlotte’s music scene and economy, and produces Confluence, the Carolinas' premier music industry conference and showcase festival. Previously at Center City Partners, he has served as SVP of Community Development and of Economic Development. Prior to joining Charlotte Center City Partners, Rick was editor and publisher of Charlotte magazine.

Rick has served on numerous community boards and is currently on the boards of the North Carolina Downtown Development Association and Historic Elmwood-Pinewood, Inc. A native of Tallahassee, Rick holds a BA in English from Davidson College and an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business. Rick lives in Charlotte with his wife, Ashley, and their daughter, who is a student in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system.
