Atrium Health, in partnership with Wexford Science & Technology, is leading the development of the Pearl Innovation District. A mixed-use development featuring education, retail, apartments, a hotel, open/community space, and cutting-edge research and development facilities. The medical school tower and 330,00 SF research building are underway and will house Wake Forest University School of Medicine and IRCAD, a French research and training institute for surgeons. As a large, multi-phase project, total development figures are not known at this time and are not included.
