Atrium Health, in partnership with Wexford Science & Technology, is leading the development of the Pearl Innovation District. A mixed-use development featuring education, retail, apartments, a hotel, open/community space, and cutting-edge research and development facilities. Wake Forest University School of Medicine will anchor the district, and IRCAD, a French research and training institute for surgeons, will establish its U.S. headquarters at The Pearl. As a large, multi-phase project, total development figures are not known at this time.
