GMH Communities, in partnership with Wexford Science & Technology, has filed plans to develop Anova The Pearl, a 20-story multifamily tower within The Pearl, Atrium Health's mixed-use innovation district. Anova will include 382 units, 5% of which will be income-restricted, and feature ground-floor retail space and a wide range of tenant amenities. An outdoor paseo will connect the tower to the existing buildings within the district. Delivery is expected in 2029.
Atrium and development partner Wexford have worked for many years on The Pearl, which is ultimately envisioned to include retail, residential, open space, and hospitality in addition to cutting-edge facilities for education, research and development. The medical school tower and 330,000-square-foot research 1 building are complete, housing Wake Forest University School of Medicine and IRCAD, a French research and training institute for surgeons.
