Chief of Staff
As Chief of Staff, Adam Rhew leads special projects, provides strategic management across the organization, and serves as a counselor to the President and CEO. He also supports executive and crisis communications, media relations, and speechwriting.
As a nationally published journalist, Adam previously served as senior editor of Charlotte Magazine, and has contributed writing and reporting to a wide range of outlets including GQ, the Washington Post, and Southern Living. Adam started his career in broadcasting as a political reporter and anchor, and subsequently held communications and public policy roles in the private and nonprofit sectors.
Adam is currently earning his M.B.A. from Wake Forest University. He holds an undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2019, Adam was appointed by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education to the district’s Equity Committee and co-chairs the group’s subcommittee on school facilities. He also serves on the board for GenerationNation, a civic literacy and education nonprofit, and has participated in the Community Building Initiatives’s Leaders Under 40 program. Adam lives in Charlotte with his wife, Gillian, and their three sons.
